MBR wastewater treatment system

MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) is a novel wastewater treatment system that combines membrane separation technology with the activated sludge process. It replaces traditional sedimentation tanks with membrane modules, simultaneously achieving biodegradation and solid-liquid separation, significantly improving treatment efficiency and effluent quality. It is widely used in food processing, municipal wastewater treatment, and other fields, and is particularly suitable for decentralized environments. Core Advantages and Principles: Its core is the synergistic effect of a “biological reactor + membrane separation unit”: After wastewater enters the reactor, high-concentration activated sludge (MLSS 8000-15000 mg/L) degrades pollutants such as COD and ammonia nitrogen. The mixed liquor passes through hollow fiber membranes and other components, trapping sludge and large molecules, allowing only compliant water to permeate. The system prevents membrane clogging through aeration and regular chemical cleaning, ensuring stable operation. MBR offers significant advantages: near-zero suspended solids (SS) in the effluent, COD removal rate exceeding 95%, meeting Class A standards for direct reuse; footprint is only 1/3 to 1/2 that of traditional processes, suitable for space-constrained environments; sludge production is reduced by more than 50%, and PLC automated control eliminates the need for dedicated personnel; high sludge concentration makes it highly resistant to shock loads, capable of handling fluctuations in food processing wastewater. Application Scenarios and Value: Key suitable scenarios include: treating high-organic-content wastewater in the food processing industry, with effluent used for workshop cleaning; treating small-scale municipal wastewater in towns and scenic areas, which can then be used for landscaping or irrigation; it can also serve as a deep treatment unit for high-concentration wastewater in industries such as pharmaceuticals, and can be rapidly deployed in emergency scenarios. MBR helps companies alleviate environmental pressures while reducing costs through water reuse, aligning with the needs of green production. With upgrades in membrane materials, costs are decreasing and lifespan is extending (3-5 years). Combined with photovoltaics and intelligent operation and maintenance, it has broad prospects in the field of decentralized treatment.
